In the wake of the currently stalled ‘Big Bang Experiment,’ a radio drama called Torchwood: Lost Souls is available on CD or on download from BBC Audio.
Starring John Barrowman, Eve Myles, Gareth David-Lloyd and Freema Agyeman, the Torchwood team and Martha face danger at CERN - the European Organisation for Nuclear Research – in this special BBC Radio programme.
Following the tragic deaths of two of their colleagues, only Captain Jack Harkness, Gwen Cooper and Ianto Jones remain of Torchwood, protecting humanity against the unknown.
Martha Jones, the ex-time traveller now working as a doctor for UNIT, has been called to CERN in Geneva. Here, they are about to activate the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), which has been designed to recreate conditions after the Big Bang.
The aim of this huge (and expensive) experiment is to give an insight into how the Universe began. But so much could go wrong: it could open a gateway to a parallel dimension or create a black hole.
Voices from the past are calling out to people from the LHC, and scientists have started to disappear. Where have they gone? What’s lurking in the underground tunnel – and do the dead really stay dead?
Best of all, with radio you can make up your own pictures!
The CD features a bonus, behind the scenes look at the making of the TV show, featuring interviews with Russell T Davies and members of the TV series cast and crew.
The BBC Audio Torchwood: Lost Souls’ download is also available for ‘download and keep’ from www.bbcaudiozone.com for £3.60 (but with no bonus material).
